M.J. White & Son, Inc. is ranked as one of the top places to work in southeast Michigan in 2009!

The Detroit Free Press has announced M.J. White and Son, Inc. as one of the top places to work in Southeast Michigan for 2009. It is a tremendous honor to be recognized alongside some truly amazing companies that value their employees, and create an outstanding environment as a workplace.
As a family owned business, M.J. White and Son, Inc. has always strived to provide a positive atmosphere and make sure that each employee is recognized as a genuine part of our company’s success and growth. We realize that the company couldn’t be what it is today without the contributions made daily by everyone who works for us to consistently produce quality work, and hold themselves to the high standards that we value. Words like “integrity”, “honesty”, “ethics”, and “teamwork” are heard regularly in the offices of M.J. White, and the significance of such words is clearly evident in the results of the Free Press’s survey. When asked, “What contributes most to your recommending working at this organization to others?”, the comment made by employees was, “The family values and ethics that is so hard to find in companies these days.”
How the survey was conducted:
The 2009 Detroit Free Press Top Workplaces were chosen based on a survey conducted for the Free Press by WorkplaceDynamics of Exton, Pennsylvania. The survey drew responses from 32,363 employees at 173 employers throughout southeast Michigan. Each employee was asked to rate his or her organization's performance according to 23 distinct statements, ranging from "This organization demonstrates it values employees during difficult times" to "It's easy to tell my boss the truth."
Each company was then placed into one of three size bands: up to 149 employees, 150-499 employees and more than 500 workers within southeast Michigan. Companies were then ranked within the size bands based on the average score of employee responses to the statements. The rankings are solely based on employee feedback. In total 75 companies were chosen.
